The front rope shoulder raise is a great exercise which can replace front dumbbell or barbell raises during your shoulder workout. Always make sure to perform it in a slow controlled motion, and you’ll feel it. I don’t think I would ever stick to only this exercise in terms of front raise shoulder exercises, but its nice to throw in now and again.

  1. Attach the dual handled rope attachment to the bottom of your favorite cable machine.
  2. Ensure its position is at the absolute bottom of the machine.
  3. Position the rope in between your legs, and face away from the machine.
  4. Kneel down, pick up the rope with both hands, bring it up between your legs (dont raise it in front of your chest yet) do this slowly as to not injure yourself.
  5. With the weight resting in your hands slowly raise the rope until your arms are parallel to the ground.
  6. Do not bend your elbows.
  7. As your arms become parallel to the ground, rotate your hands while slowly separating the ends of the rope.
  8. Pause.
  9. Slowly lower the rope back to your waist.
  10. Repeat.
