Everyone’s always looking for the powder or the pill or the diet or whatever it may be that can help them gain muscle mass fast. A lot of the things people take area geared to give them a huge burst during their actual workout. I probably spend about 6 hrs a week actually working out, which leaves 162 hrs where I’m not working out. Working out is only the catalyst that begins the muscle building process, the actual results occur in between workouts, during the recovery period. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a supplement you could take that would speed up and increase the effectiveness of your recovery period?
L-Glutamine with MSM appears to be just such a product. According to the IDS website:
“Total Recovery L-Glutamine by IDS is the ideal product for post workout rehabilitation for torn muscle fibers. Research has shown that supplementing 5-15 grams of L-Glutamine per day can decrease muscle soreness, decrease recovery time and boost the body’s immune system. There is no better quality L-Glutamine on the market today than Total Recovery.
L-Glutamine is the most prevalent amino acid in skeletal muscle tissue and blood. Research suggests that overtraining may be related to low blood L-Glutamine levels. Supplementation with L-Glutamine may aid in muscle recuperation as well as in immune system function.
The presence of MSM is crucial to proper cell replacement. Under optimal conditions, new flexible cells replace old ones by attaching to flexible tissue. MSM provides the flexible bond between proteins that this process requires. Without it, tissues and cells become rigid. This can lead to the premature deterioration of various body organs. MSM also replenishes organs by increasing blood circulation and contributing to general tissue detoxification.”
You should take 2 servings of this per day, once when you wake up and then again after you workout. You can take anywhere from 1-3 scoops per serving, but 1 scoop (5.5 grams) should be enough. You can get a 554g jug online for about $20. This will last you about 50 days if you only use 1 scoop per serving, so it’s not that bad of a value either. Leave a comment if you use this or something like it and let us know what you think.
