Product Review: Perfect Pushup
Posted By: JimApril 23rd, 2008

Pushups are a great exercise to do because they are so simple and you can work so many different body parts at the same time. One problem with a regular pushup is that you might not necessarily get the range of motion you desire on the way down. The Perfect Pushup and the Pushup Pro are two items which really help you work your back and outside chest muscles on your pushups. Additionally, the handles on both items can rotate at your own discretion.

According to their website, “The Perfect Pushup’s rotating handles allow your arms to rotate naturally the same way they do when you throw a punch or press up a dumb bell. This unique feature engages more muscles and helps reduce joint strain. Works for any fitness level.”

There are a couple differences between the Perfect Pushup and the Pushup Pro however. The Perfect Pushup costs abour $40, while the Pushup Pro is $20. I’ve used both of these items and in my opinion, if you’re going to spend $20 on an item like this, you might as well shell out the extra $20 and get a better product. The Perfect Pushup is just a sturdier all around product, it’s made of metal and it just feels a lot more durable, while the Pushup Pro is entirely plastic and if you’re a bigger guy then it would probably feel like it would just snap beneath you. Additionally, the bearings that allow them to rotate as you workout are much smoother on the Perfect Pushup, making for a pretty effortless motion, while the Pushup Pro can tend to be a little jerky.

Both of these products are pretty fun though, they bring a slightly new aspect to the pushup, and the fact that your gripping something as opposed to palms flat on the ground increases the difficulty a little bit.
