Welcome everyone to yogymbo.com, this is the one and only Jimbozo with my first ever yogymbo entry. I’m just over 5′ 8″, I weigh anywhere from 169-174 depending on the day and I’ve been working out for a while now, but only seriously for the past couple of years. I just wanted to give everyone a reference point so you know where i’m coming from before I start ranting.
So not surprisingly, the more time a spend working out, the more I just want to find out everything I can about different workouts and techniques and how I can get huge and cut and strong all at the same time. My recent kick has been a combination of cross training and muscle shock. Every month or so Nash and I like to change up or workouts so our bodies don’t get too used to the same thing. I was perusing some potential new workouts and I found a version of the 300 workout. 300 of course referring to the movie where everyone is ripped out of their minds, so I figured it was worth a shot. It’s definitely an advanced workout that’s geared to build muscle, get definition, burn fat, and just kick your ass. Here’s how it goes….
a) Pullups - 25 reps
b) Deadlifts with 135lbs - 50 reps
c) Pushups - 50 reps
d) 24-inch Box jumps - 50 reps
e) Floor wipers - 50 reps
f) Single-arm Clean-and-Press with 36lbs Kettlebell - 50 reps
g) Pullups - 25 reps
- You can just google any of these exercises if they’re not familiar to you -
This is meant to be a nonstop workout…by the time they were in movie shape, the 300 guys would do this in about 20 minutes…..I probably won’t be able to get past the first 25 pullups in 20 minutes (that’s a lie btw, I’m HUGE). You can do most of these exercises without any crazy equipment, but if you need to you can swap in different exercises. Also like I said this a really advanced workout, so you can cut down on the reps or sets if you want. The most important part is that you go until you can’t go anymore, then the second you can go again you pick up the weights and beast it out.
Nash and I are just dumb kids so we’re gunna start doin this exact workout (or damn close) this week and we’re gunna keep doing it like 3 times a week until we can get it down pretty well. We’ll also make a video of us working out so you can get an idea of where you stand against us and how you can modify the workout to better fit your ability level…and so you can laugh your asses off at us. So be on the lookout for a video post with the workout in the upcoming week and I’m not gunna stop until I can kill a wolf with my bear hands (I’ll make a video of that too)
